Watercolor Rabbit by Janet Takahashi

I am someone who has always loved the color red in every way, but I woke up one morning and my world turned pink. I’ve been fighting it all along and there it was. I focus in on the pink streaks in a sunset, my fabulous fugitive pink Opera watercolor and desserts. I notice THAT color everywhere and it makes me happy. I found myself in search of the perfect pink colored fountain pen. I’m picky. Not fuchsia or raspberry, but the color of cotton candy-how sickening sweet is that! I have pink socks and not much else, clothes-wise. So there it is. Maybe the seed was planted last fall when I read a framed quote I saw in a little seaside bookstore from Audrey Hepburn: She said, “I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything else seems to be going wrong. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.” I wonder what will happen next…Cerulean blue?
